Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pelon Espinoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Espejel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pelon Espinoza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan Espejel! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Espejel feints and as Espinoza raises his hands in defense, Espejel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Espejel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Espinoza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Espinoza trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Espejel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Espinoza is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Espinoza is controlling Espejel's posture. Espejel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Espinoza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Espejel postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Espinoza looking for a sweep. Not yet Espinoza, not yet. Espejel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pelon Espinoza just wasn't active enough. Espejel wants to clinch but Espinoza slips to the side and Espinoza counters with a right hand to the body. Espinoza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Espejel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Espinoza. Espejel misses with a takedown attempt - Espinoza sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Espejel wants to clinch and Espinoza counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Espinoza tries to bum rush Espejel with a series of wild strikes but Espejel uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Espejel lands a front kick. Espinoza has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pelon Espinoza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Espinoza is breathing heavily. Espinoza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Espejel is fending him off so far but Espinoza persists. Nope, Espejel circles away and we're back to standing. Espejel fails with the takedown. Espejel shoots in looking for a takedown. Espinoza tries to sprawl out of it but Espejel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Espinoza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Espejel closes the distance and clinches up with Espinoza, looking for a takedown. Espejel pushes Espinoza against the cage but Espinoza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Espejel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Espinoza paws at him with a jab and circles away. Espinoza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Espejel as he avoids it easily. Espinoza clinches. Espejel is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Espinoza is defending well for now. Espejel tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Espinoza smiles and moves away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Espinoza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Espejel. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Espinoza. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Espinoza tries for a takedown but Espejel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pelon Espinoza will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Espejel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Espinoza but Espinoza pushes him off and we're back to square one. Horrible takedown by Espejel or perhaps it was just good defense by Espinoza which made him look bad. Espejel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pelon Espinoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Espejel. Espinoza drives through and clinches with Espejel against the cage.
Espinoza is trying to push Espejel away but Espejel has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Espinoza is working for takedown but Espejel is calmly controlling the position for now. Espinoza is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Espejel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Espejel fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Espejel is breathing heavily. Espinoza tries to break free but Espejel pushes him back against the cage. Espejel gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Espinoza.
Espejel jumps guard but Espinoza turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Espinoza drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Espejel gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Espinoza pulls guard successfully.
Espinoza tries to land a sweep but no joy. Espinoza escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Espejel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Espejel is looking to stand up but Espinoza won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Espinoza is on top in guard.
Espinoza controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Espejel throws his legs up looking for a submission but Espinoza uses it to pass to side control.
Espejel tries to buck Espinoza off but Espinoza is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Espinoza tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Espinoza has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Espinoza misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Espinoza is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Espejel has escaped the position, nice work there. A lull in the action here as Espinoza stalls from top position. Espinoza decides to take the fight back to the feet. Espinoza changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Espejel tries to avoid it but Espinoza manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Espejel to the ground. Espejel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Espinoza fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Espejel checks it well. Espinoza clinches up against the cage. Espejel on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Espejel goes for a takedown attempt but Espinoza pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Pelon Espinoza dominated that second round. That's time! Espinoza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Espejel gets tackled into the cage by Espinoza. Espinoza maintains the clinch. Espejel tries to pull guard but Espinoza holds him up against the cage and eventually Espejel drops back down to his feet.

Espejel is trying to control the position but Espinoza postures up. Espejel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Espejel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We're going to have a standup here because Pelon Espinoza wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Espejel wants to clinch but Espinoza slips to the side and Espinoza holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Espejel misses with some punches.

No, Espejel has managed to get both his arms back between Espinoza's legs - danger averted. Espejel trying to control but Espinoza is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Espejel postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Espinoza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Espejel, into his guard. Espinoza is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Espinoza passes easily into side control. Nice work. Espejel is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Espinoza decides to take the fight back to the feet. Alan Espejel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pelon Espinoza is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Espejel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Espinoza sprawls well. Espinoza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Espejel gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Pelon Espinoza showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Espinoza, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
