Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fjalar Bengtsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Pontov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fjalar Bengtsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Boris Pontov! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bengtsson misses with a head kick.
Bengtsson looks to clinch so Pontov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pontov throwing strikes but missing. Pontov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pontov won't allow Bengtsson to get back to his feet. Pontov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bengtsson's head. Pontov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pontov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bengtsson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pontov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pontov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pontov postures up and lands a big shot to Bengtsson's brow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pontov chips away with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pontov scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Bengtsson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pontov's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pontov working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pontov connects with a couple of short punches. Pontov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pontov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bengtsson's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bengtsson can't keep his opponent in guard - Pontov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pontov has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bengtsson defend it? Pontov steps over the head and cranks it - Bengtsson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pontov!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Boris Pontov! A relieved looking Boris Pontov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
