Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Connor Pye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Westen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pye comes to the cage accompanied by Here comes the boom. Roy Westen struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Westen! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Westen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pye looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Westen is looking to take a break and control but Pye is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Westen has knee on belly and moves into mount. Pye is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Pye is squirming around, avoiding Westen's attempts to control the action. Westen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pye has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pye! Pye drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Westen dives on top into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Connor Pye. Westen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Westen lands in his opponent's guard. Westen trying to control but Pye is working from the bottom. Pye knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Westen on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pye keeping moving, preventing Westen from controlling successfully. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pye controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Pye has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pye trying to stand up but can't free himself from Westen's guard. Westen is breathing heavily.

We're going to have a standup here because Connor Pye wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Westen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pye's half guard. Westen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Westen shoots in and bounces Pye off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Westen stays in close to Pye's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Westen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pye is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pye has escaped and now he's on top! Pye stands up from Westen's guard - Pye perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pye throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Westen was covering up waiting for the punch and Pye finishes the takedown easily into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Westen trying to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Connor Pye. I think Pye has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
