Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Wexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wexler comes to the cage accompanied by Go To Sleep - Eminem. Wilson has chosen Memories - by David Guetta and Kid Cudi as his entrance music. Dave Wilson has the better chin. 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Wexler! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Wilson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Wexler avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wilson. Wilson thows a huge punch but Wexler dodges it nicely.
Wilson working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Wexler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wilson is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Wexler as he works his way to full guard.
Wilson throws an elbow that misses. Wexler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wilson's guard. Nice move by Wexler! Wexler is aware though and is defending well. Wilson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wexler! Wexler gets back to half guard. Wilson prevents Wexler from improving his position. Wexler wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wexler taking some punishment here, with Wilson in his half guard. Wilson is working for a kimura but Wexler is defending it quite comfortably.

Wexler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wilson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wexler has managed to get both his arms back between Wilson's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wexler is looking for a kimura but Wilson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wexler to get the leverage. The fighters are battling for position here. Wilson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Wilson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wexler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wilson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wexler is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Wilson dominated that round. That's time! Wexler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Wilson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wexler manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Wilson is looking to improve his position.
Wilson is refusing to be controlled, as Wexler sits in half guard. Wilson looking for submissions off his back. Wexler perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Wexler is nestled in close to Wilson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wexler is taking a breather. Wilson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Wilson manages to get to full guard.

Wexler is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Whack. That's a big, big shot from Wilson! Wexler is out cold! This one is all over!
