PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Hyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hyatt comes into the arena with The thing that should not be blaring out of the sound system. Carter has chosen Coming Home by Diddy ft. Skylar Grey as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Hyatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Carter!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyatt throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hyatt tries to sprawl but Carter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hyatt is staying active underneath Carter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Carter passes to side control.
Carter creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hyatt sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hyatt is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Carter has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Carter misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter working the ground and pound from side control.
Hyatt is trying to get back to half guard.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hyatt is trying to control Carter's posture but Carter avoids it.
Hyatt is not content to let Carter control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter landing a few strikes.
Carter working the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carter tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Carter in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Hyatt is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shane Carter!
After winning the bout, Shane Carter thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
