The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sweeney connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Da Silva momentarily.
It looks like Santiago Da Silva has been cut.
Da Silva misses with a right hand
and Sweeney counters with a nice low kick that buckles Da Silva's knee momentarily.
Da Silva misses with a kick to the body.
Da Silva thuds his shin into the meat of Sweeney's side.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Da Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Sweeney moves out of range easily.
Sweeney lands a big right hand that sends Da Silva crashing to the mat! Sweeney stays standing though and waves Da Silva back to his feet!
Sweeney uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Da Silva.
Da Silva avoids the body shot from Sweeney.
A lazy body kick from Da Silva
and Sweeney counters with a crisp right hand that drops Da Silva! Sweeney lets Da Silva back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Da Silva is rocked!
That has opened up Santiago Da Silva's cut even more.
Da Silva swings for the body but Sweeney moves out of range.
Sweeney scores with a leg kick.
Sweeney throws a nice outside leg kick.
Da Silva looks winded!
The fighters circling - Da Silva throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sweeney scores with a jab to the jaw.
Da Silva does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Sweeney throws a nice outside leg kick.
Sweeney is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Da Silva takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sweeney cracks Da Silva with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Da Silva looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Sweeney finish him?
Da Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Sweeney finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sweeney avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sweeney scores with a leg kick.
Da Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Da Silva tries to land a front kick but Sweeney steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sweeney closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Da Silva! Sweeney dives in looking to finish! Da Silva is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Declan Sweeney was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
