Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shingo Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Leroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shingo Tanaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Leroy!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leroy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tanaka. Tanaka obviously looking to wear him down.
Leroy keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Tanaka keeps Leroy at a distance using the push kick.
Shingo Tanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanaka on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Leroy throws a body punch but Tanaka moves out of range.
Tanaka lands a head kick. Leroy smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Bruce Leroy has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leroy is looking to clinch.
Leroy throws an overhand right that lands on Tanaka's shoulder, as Tanaka tries to avoid the shot.
Tanaka uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Leroy.
Tanaka throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Tanaka throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


Leroy is rocked!
Tanaka lands a front kick.
Tanaka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Tanaka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Tanaka.

Tanaka thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tanaka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Leroy's head.

Leroy kicks Tanaka off and gets back to his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tanaka.
Leroy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tanaka can pounce on him.
Tanaka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Leroy scores with a decent looking hook.
Tanaka throws a head kick that misses.
Leroy takes a swing at Tanaka's ribcage but misses.
Tanaka tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Leroy was well out of range. Poor timing from Tanaka.
Leroy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Leroy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tanaka moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Leroy checks a leg kick.
Tanaka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Leroy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Leroy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tanaka slips under a jab from Leroy.
Tanaka tries to score with a low kick but Leroy moves his leg out of the way.
Leroy misses with a body shot.
Tanaka moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Leroy leaves Tanaka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Leroy misses with a series of wild punches.
Leroy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leroy throws a combination that misses

and Tanaka counters with a takedown into side control.

The strikes coming from Tanaka are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Tanaka tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tanaka has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Leroy is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanaka connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Leroy some visible discomfort.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tanaka misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Leroy wants to get back to his feet but Tanaka drags him back down.

Tanaka in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Leroy looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Tanaka turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
