Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Loid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Loid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas King!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loid clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage.

Loid works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Loid looking to sit in guard and control but King gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

King drops back, looking for a kneebar! Loid looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Loid looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Loid!
Loid looking to punish the body of his opponent here but King is avoiding damage well.
Loid throws a strike aimed at the side of King's head but King avoids it well.
King sneaks back into half guard.
Nice strikes from Loid there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King wants to control but Loid is keeping busy and won't allow it.
King regains full guard. Nicely done.
Loid lands a couple of elbows.
Loid is in close to King's body, working some short punches and elbows.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King trying to keep a closed guard but Loid is proving a slippery customer.
King trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
King is trying to control the position but Loid postures up.
Loid distracts King with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Loid landing with the ground and pound.
Loid slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
King keeping moving, preventing Loid from controlling successfully.

Loid keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of King's head.
Loid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Loid can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Loid throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as King works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
King lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Loid!
King looks winded!
Loid is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Loid is squirming around, avoiding King's attempts to control the action.

King moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Loid has worked his arm free - good work by Loid!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Loid wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
King postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

King stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Loid slaps away a takedown attempt from King, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jeff Loid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Loid throws a right and a left that both miss.
Loid scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Loid's waist but Loid gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.

Loid rushes King and presses him up against the cage.

Loid breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Loid shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. King manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
King wants to sweep but no luck.
King not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Loid dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Loid pushes King up against the cage in a clinch.

Loid is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. King can't fight it off and eventually Loid manages to take the fight to the floor. King looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Loid stands up over King, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Loid working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loid throws a strike but King rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Loid pushes King off and scrambles back to his feet.
Loid misses with a head kick.

Loid darts in and clinches King up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Loid gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Loid is sitting in close to King's body. King has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Loid is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Loid is tapping! That was a very nice submission by King.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Thomas King!
