Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Penzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Gaarlandt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeff Gaarlandt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Penzer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Gaarlandt! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaarlandt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Penzer counter with a right hand.
It looks like Jeff Gaarlandt has been cut. No joy there for Gaarlandt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gaarlandt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Penzer counters with a nice body kick. Penzer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Gaarlandt needs to keep his hands up - Penzer had a free shot at his head there. Penzer shoots in and gets a takedown into Gaarlandt's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Penzer prevents Gaarlandt from getting back to his feet. Penzer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Penzer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gaarlandt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Penzer has managed to get both his arms back between Gaarlandt's legs - danger averted. Gaarlandt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Penzer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Penzer with a nice head shot there. Penzer slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penzer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gaarlandt keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penzer controlling the pace. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Penzer connects with a nice short shot to Gaarlandt's temple. Gaarlandt taking some punishment here, with Penzer in his half guard. Penzer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gaarlandt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Penzer scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Penzer working over Gaarlandt with some ground and pound. Gaarlandt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Penzer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Penzer working Gaarlandt over with strikes. Penzer winds up and cracks Gaarlandt with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Gaarlandt wants to get back to his feet.
Gaarlandt looks winded! Penzer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaarlandt trying to hold on to Penzer's head to control him but Penzer postures up.
Penzer is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Penzer missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gaarlandt is trying to get back to full guard. Penzer is keen to just control but Gaarlandt is a slippery customer. Gaarlandt taking some punishment here, with Penzer in his half guard. Penzer is looking to advance position but Gaarlandt won't allow it. Gaarlandt has hold of Penzer's hands but Penzer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gaarlandt wants to improve his position but Penzer is controlling well.
Gaarlandt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Penzer scores with a couple of nice shots. Gaarlandt is not content to let Penzer control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penzer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That has opened up Jeff Gaarlandt's cut even more. Penzer prevents Gaarlandt from standing back up.
Gaarlandt is staying active underneath Penzer, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Penzer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Penzer sitting and controlling from the half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Penzer lands a nice short elbow. Penzer trying to mount his opponent but Gaarlandt defends it. Penzer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penzer scoring with strikes to the body and head. Penzer working over Gaarlandt with some ground and pound. Gaarlandt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The cut above Jeff Gaarlandt's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Penzer lands with a punch from half guard. Penzer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gaarlandt is rocked!
Jeff Gaarlandt's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jeff Gaarlandt's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mario Penzer! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Mario Penzer made sure he mentioned Dragon, along with how happy he was to win his fight.
