Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ahmad Massoud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernard takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Massoud throws a body punch but Bernard moves out of range.
Bernard is looking to clinch.
Massoud lands a head shot.
Bernard avoids the body shot from Massoud.

Massoud drops Bernard with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bernard looks back up at him and smiles so Massoud waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Bernard is rocked!
Ahmad Massoud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bernard slips under a jab from Massoud.
Bernard is still on wobbly legs! Can Massoud finish him?
Massoud misses with a looping left.
Bernard seems to have recovered his senses.
Bernard shoots in but Massoud avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bernard shoots in looking for a takedown. Massoud tries to sprawl out of it but Bernard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Massoud manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bernard fails with a takedown attempt.
Ahmad Massoud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Bernard.
Bernard takes one to the chin there.

Massoud throws a hook but Bernard blocks it.
Massoud thuds a left hand into Bernard's body.
Massoud slips a jab and a cross from Bernard.
Bernard tries to move into range but Massoud moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ahmad Massoud is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bernard takes a swing at Massoud's ribcage but misses.
Massoud throws an off balance right hand
and Bernard counters with a left and a right that stings Massoud.
Massoud thuds a left hand into Bernard's body.
Massoud thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bernard wants to clinch but Massoud slips to the side

and Massoud counters with a nice right hand that sends Bernard toppling to the canvas! Bernard scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Massoud finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Massoud throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Massoud uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bernard.

Massoud cracks Bernard with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Massoud has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bernard to stand back up!
Bernard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Massoud lands a brutal uppercut that launches Bernard off his feet! Bernard tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
