The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verhoeven misses with a leg kick
and Gan counters with a left and a right that stings Verhoeven.
Rico Verhoeven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Verhoeven misses the shot to the body.
Verhoeven rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gan counters with a stiff right hand.
Verhoeven closes the distance looking to clinch
and Gan counters with a single leg into guard. Verhoeven didn't expect that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Verhoeven looking for a sweep. Not yet Verhoeven, not yet.
Gan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gan controlling from the top position.
Gan passes Verhoeven's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gan passes the guard and advances to mount!
Gan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Verhoeven looks a forlorn figure.
Verhoeven is rocked!
It looks like Rico Verhoeven has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gan lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Verhoeven! Gan sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Verhoeven and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
