Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samuel Bar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Sun Park! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Park feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Park connects with a couple of short punches. Park stands up and waves to Bar to follow him. Park tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Park slaps away a takedown attempt from Bar, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bar is breathing heavily. Park clinches up against the cage. Park taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Park has hold of one of Bar's legs. Bar is fighting the takedown attempt but Park gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Park passes Bar's left leg - he's now in half guard. Park perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Park trying to control from half guard but Bar is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Park passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bar! Park lands a big shot there that rocks Bar but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Park lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bar hang on? Park landing strikes from the mount and Bar is in trouble! Park lands a nice shot to the head. Park looking to finish Bar with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bar!
Bar is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Park takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Oh Bar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Park is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Park!
