Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keyzer Soze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ford Atlas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keyzer Soze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ford Atlas!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soze misses with a takedown attempt

and Atlas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soze won't be happy with that.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Soze tries to improve position but can't.
Atlas working the ground and pound.
A lull in the action here as Atlas stalls from top position.
Soze is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Atlas has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Atlas has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Soze is looking to get to half guard.
Atlas lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Soze hang on?

Soze is trying to escape the mount.
Soze is working hard here to advance position.
Atlas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Soze tries to lock up and control but Atlas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Soze wants to control but Atlas is having none of it.

Atlas goes for an armbar but Soze turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Soze.

Atlas uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Soze avoids the head kick by Atlas.

Atlas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Atlas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Soze, up you get!

Atlas looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Soze!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soze is looking to get back to his feet here but Atlas is keeping cool and he's managed to take Soze's back.
Soze is breathing heavily.
Soze just trying to survive but Atlas is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Atlas is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Soze knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Soze for a finish.
Atlas slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Soze is really stuck here.

Atlas has good solid back control here.
Let's hope that Atlas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like Atlas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Atlas gets his hands free as Soze looks to control.
Soze is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Atlas.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ford Atlas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Atlas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Soze with a poor takedown

and Atlas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Atlas looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Atlas stalling.
Atlas tries to pass to full mount but Soze defends it.
Ford Atlas has got the better of the ground game so far.

Soze looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Atlas keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Atlas prevents Soze from improving his position.

Atlas stands up and beckons Soze to join him on the feet.

Atlas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Soze quickly recovers to half guard.

Atlas stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Soze to get to his feet.

Well, if Atlas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Soze wants to control but Atlas is keeping busy.
Atlas looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Soze is trying to get back to full guard.
Atlas works his way into full mount!

Atlas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Atlas has control of Soze's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Soze regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ford Atlas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Soze misses with a takedown
and Atlas counters with a big head kick but Soze shrugs it off.
Soze closes this distance looking for a takedown but Atlas circles away.
Keyzer Soze is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Atlas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Atlas lands in his opponent's guard.
Atlas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soze swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Atlas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Soze is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Atlas is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Atlas connects with a couple of short punches.

Atlas gets to his feet - Soze follows without any prompting.

Atlas looking to score a takedown here. Soze is defending well but Atlas drives through and ends up in Soze's guard.

Atlas gets to his feet. Soze looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Atlas drives through with a takedown into Soze's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Atlas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Some wild striking there from Atlas.
Atlas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Atlas clinches.
Atlas comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Nice elbow from Atlas.

Atlas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Atlas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Atlas is pulling down on Soze's head to control his posture.
Atlas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Soze's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Atlas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Soze looking for subs off his back but Atlas has passed one foot through into half guard.
Atlas tries to pass to full mount but Soze defends it.

Atlas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Soze on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Atlas gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Atlas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Atlas uses his free foot to push down on Soze's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Soze.
Keyzer Soze has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Atlas avoids the attempt from Soze to control.
Atlas sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Atlas's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Ford Atlas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Atlas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
