Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Bryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Kelvin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kelvin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bryan moves into full guard.
Bryan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kelvin wants to control from the top but Bryan keeps moving.

Bryan looking for subs off his back but Kelvin has passed one foot through into half guard.
Bryan is staying active underneath Kelvin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Carlos Kelvin wasn't active enough on the ground.

Kelvin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bryan was covering up waiting for the punch and Kelvin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kelvin wants to control from the top but Bryan keeps moving.

Kelvin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bryan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Carlos Kelvin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bryan. Kelvin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kelvin moves in looking to clinch but Bryan pushes him off.

Kelvin has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bryan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bryan throws a series of punches but Kelvin avoids them all with ease.
Bryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kelvin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bryan somewhat.

Bryan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kelvin to the ground. Bryan is now in Kelvin's guard.
Kelvin has his hands on Bryan's head, controlling the position.
Bryan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kelvin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kelvin wants to sweep but no luck.
Kelvin is trying to keep Bryan in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Bryan is looking to work some ground and pound but Kelvin has wrist control.

Kelvin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bryan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bryan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Carlos Kelvin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


No joy there for Bryan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kelvin looking to score a takedown here. Bryan is defending well but Kelvin drives through and ends up in Bryan's guard.
Kelvin wants to control from the top but Bryan keeps moving.

Bryan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kelvin pulls his head out easily.
Bryan is looking for a sweep. Kelvin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kelvin wants to control from the top but Bryan keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carlos Kelvin.
Bryan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kelvin moves into the clinch.

Kelvin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bryan regains guard immediately.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelvin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kelvin looking to sit in guard and control but Bryan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kelvin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bryan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bryan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bryan wants to control from the top but Kelvin keeps moving.

Bryan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kelvin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kelvin has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters circling - Bryan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kelvin dodges the punch combination from Bryan.
Bryan throws a front kick aimed at Kelvin's knee but Kelvin avoids it well.
Kelvin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bryan scores with a one two! Kelvin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Kelvin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Kelvin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kelvin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kelvin is trying to control here but Bryan has managed to regain half guard.
Bryan is staying active underneath Kelvin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bryan looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Kelvin pushes past his half guard into mount!

Bryan is squirming around, avoiding Kelvin's attempts to control the action.
