Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven McDermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ktm Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDermott comes to the cage accompanied by Slim dusty. Ktm Power has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Power misses.
Power lands with an uppercut that bounces McDermott off the cage and back into range.
Power misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McDermott looks to score with a jab to the body but Power is just out of range.
Nice body kick there by Power.
McDermott throws a body punch but Power moves out of range.
McDermott misses with a body punch
and Power counters with a left and a right that stings McDermott.
Power tries to bum rush McDermott with a series of wild strikes but McDermott uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Power lunges at McDermott with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by McDermott's hand.
A head kick misses from Power.
McDermott throws a one two combo.
It looks like Ktm Power has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Power throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Power scores with a one two! McDermott had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
McDermott throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McDermott avoids a punch combination nicely.
McDermott misses with a hook to the body
and Power counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A right-left combo lands from Power.
Power misses with a double jab.
McDermott showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Power.
McDermott instigates a clinch.
McDermott breaks from the clinch.
McDermott misses with a right hand
and Power counters with a two punch combo.

McDermott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McDermott changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Power looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Power is trying to control McDermott's posture but McDermott avoids it.
Power pushes McDermott away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McDermott gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Power tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McDermott decides to stand up, so the ref orders Power to his feet.
McDermott scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McDermott counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Power misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McDermott fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Power has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Power needs to keep his hands up - McDermott had a free shot at his head there.
McDermott has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Power avoids a punch combination nicely.
Power wants to slow McDermott down by chopping away at his legs.
McDermott misses with a hook
letting Power counter with a right hand.

Power moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

McDermott throws a nice looking combination but Power bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McDermott has Power up against the cage in a clinch.
McDermott escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Power tests McDermott's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Power works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Steven McDermott will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ktm Power's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Power scores with a sloppy right hand. McDermott should have avoided that one.
Power keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McDermott gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Power.
Power throws a right and a left that McDermott avoids nicely.
Power misses with a double jab.

and Power counters with a three punch combo that has McDermott backing up. McDermott nods at Power to acknowledge the strikes.
McDermott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McDermott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McDermott decides to stand back up. McDermott steps back and let's Power get back to his feet.
Power lands with a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Power displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
McDermott is rocked!
McDermott lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oh McDermott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ktm Power seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Power with a jab.
McDermott swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Power throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McDermott is looking to wear down Power with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
McDermott is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Power moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ktm Power!
After the fight, Ktm Power was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
