Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fernando Miguel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Kelvin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelvin shoots in but no luck this time.
Miguel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kelvin.
Fernando Miguel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Kelvin.
Miguel scores with a jab to the head.

Miguel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Miguel thuds his right hand into Kelvin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Miguel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Miguel moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Miguel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kelvin shoots in but no luck this time.
Miguel lands the left hand.
Miguel is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miguel connects with a right hand. Kelvin shakes it off.
Kelvin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miguel's waist but Miguel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kelvin off to one side.
Kelvin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kelvin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kelvin fails with a takedown attempt.
Miguel is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Miguel moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kelvin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A punch lands to the side of Kelvin 's head but he takes it in his stride.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kelvin.

Miguel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Kelvin throws a head kick but Miguel moves out of range.
Kelvin throws a sloppy body shot
and Miguel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Miguel scores with a nice right hand.
Miguel lands with a nice combination. Kelvin backs away looking to recover.
Miguel connects with the punch.

Kelvin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kelvin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Miguel's efforts to push away.
Miguel is looking to break free of the clinch but Kelvin has double underhooks.
Miguel is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Kelvin has picked Miguel up - he's going for a ride! Kelvin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Miguel scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kelvin manages to mount him!
You get the feeling that Miguel really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kelvin controlling his opponent.
Miguel is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kelvin lands with some strikes.
Miguel is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Kelvin has taken his back!

Miguel is trying to defend against the choke here but Kelvin has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Kelvin Tightens the hold and Miguel taps out furiously! Kelvin displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Kelvin!
