Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Katze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Hipfl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karl Katze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mirko Hipfl!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hipfl avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hipfl misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Hipfl shoots in looking for a takedown. Katze tries to sprawl out of it but Hipfl keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Katze manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Katze shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Katze showed some decent athleticism there.

Katze takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hipfl escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Katze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Katze counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Katze slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hipfl manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Hipfl is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Katze can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hipfl seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Katze does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Katze is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hipfl shoots in and bounces Katze off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Katze sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hipfl's guard.

Hipfl is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hipfl has left one of his arms exposed and Katze doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hipfl screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
