The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Danny Mcdonald has been cut.
Ekman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mcdonald fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ekman to the ground. Mcdonald is now in Ekman's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mcdonald working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Mcdonald makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mcdonald drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcdonald jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mcdonald is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ekman is trying to escape and Mcdonald transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ekman is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mcdonald! Very nice indeed!
