PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Bundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ima Yerface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bundy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bad to The Bone. Yerface comes into a darkened arena with his song building. In Flames - Like You Better Dead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 2, fighting out of New York, Ima Yerface!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yerface has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Yerface there as he acknowledges the shot.
Yerface connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bundy momentarily.
Yerface fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bundy manages to avoid it.
Yerface throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bundy scores with a nice strike.
Bundy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bundy throws the left hand but Yerface avoids the punch easily.
Yerface misses with a looping right.
Yerface catches Bundy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bundy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bundy misses with a looping right.
Bundy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yerface circles away quickly and effectively.
Bundy cracks Yerface with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Yerface fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bundy to the ground. Yerface is now in Bundy's guard.
Yerface trying to control the position from guard on top but Bundy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bundy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yerface can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bundy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Yerface wants to pass the guard but Bundy is keeping the position.
Yerface wants to control from the top but Bundy keeps moving.
Bundy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yerface's guard.
Bundy lands a couple of digs.

Bundy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yerface dives on top into guard.

Bundy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yerface defends it easily.
Yerface trying to control the position from guard on top but Bundy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bundy trying to keep a closed guard but Yerface is proving a slippery customer.

Bundy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yerface throwing strikes but missing.
Bundy is trying to control the position but Yerface postures up.
Bundy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yerface lands a couple of elbows.
Yerface not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bundy holds on and takes a little breather.
Bundy is trying to control the position but Yerface postures up.

Yerface trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Yerface postures up in Bundy's guard and throws a big left but Bundy blocks it.
Yerface trying to control but Bundy is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yerface dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bundy. That did some damage!
Bundy avoids the head kick by Yerface.

Bundy moves into the clinch.
Yerface is trying to stall.
Yerface tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Yerface is stalling here.
Yerface scores with a hook to the body.
Yerface is defending well against a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yerface lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Al Bundy has been cut.

Yerface is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bundy is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Yerface to the mat. Yerface regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yerface is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yerface won't allow Bundy to sweep him here.
Bundy keeping full guard, as Yerface tries to pass.
Bundy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yerface is one step ahead there.
Bundy trying to keep a closed guard but Yerface is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bundy is really struggling to control Yerface but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Yerface controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Al Bundy will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Al Bundy's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Bundy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yerface has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Yerface misses with a looping left.
Bundy lands a jab.
A low kick from Yerface misses
letting Bundy counter with a right hand.
Yerface throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bundy doesn't manage to clinch there - Yerface circles away.
Bundy throws an off balance right hand

so Yerface counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bundy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yerface!
Bundy breaks from Yerface's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Bundy looking to finish with strikes here!
Yerface is trying to escape the mount.
Bundy tries to control but Yerface wriggling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yerface is looking to improve his position but Bundy isn't that keen on the idea.
Bundy is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Yerface is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bundy is landing with some decent strikes but Yerface is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bundy landing punches.
Yerface tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yerface tries to hold on but Bundy postures up.
Bundy looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Yerface is trying to escape the mount.
Bundy lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yerface is looking to get to half guard.
Bundy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yerface is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yerface regains half guard.

Bundy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bundy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Bundy drops an elbow to the side of Yerface's head.
Bundy works his foot free and advances to mount.

Bundy has hold of Yerface's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Yerface manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Yerface wants to control but Bundy is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bundy looking to finish Yerface with some ground and pound. This is bad for Yerface!
Bundy lands a big shot there that rocks Yerface but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bundy scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Yerface?

Yerface is rocked!
Bundy is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Yerface goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Bundy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Al Bundy!
Al Bundy seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
