A fine choice. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diesel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hugo circles away quickly and effectively.

Hugo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diesel.

Benny Diesel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hugo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diesel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
An inside leg kick lands from Diesel.

and Hugo counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Diesel off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Hugo follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Diesel was out before he hit the floor.
