Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Henry Chinaski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Ricardo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Gracie as he checks the leg kick.
Gracie slips under a jab.
A bone on bone clash there as Gracie blocks the leg kick.
Chinaski tries to clinch up

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
Gracie distracts Chinaski with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Chinaski has wrist control.

We're going to have a standup here because Henry Chinaski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Chinaski fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chinaski holds on and takes a little breather.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Chinaski uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gracie has time to react.

Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Chinaski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Chinaski slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.

Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chinaski defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chinaski is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Chinaski!
Chinaski is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Chinaski takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Chinaski dips to his left and cracks Gracie with an uppercut!
Chinaski throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Chinaski finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.
Henry Chinaski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chinaski tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chinaski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Chinaski still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Chinaski has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chinaski wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gracie is not content to let Chinaski control the position.

Chinaski doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Chinaski is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gracie loads up on a big right hand but Chinaski slips the punch.
Chinaski throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chinaski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.
Gracie tries to land a front kick but Chinaski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Chinaski throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.
Good leg kick by Chinaski there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The fighters circling - Chinaski throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Chinaski catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Henry Chinaski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chinaski swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gracie.
Gracie moves out of range as Chinaski throws a body kick.
Gracie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Chinaski finds it's way round the side to connect with Gracie's head.
Henry Chinaski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fighters circle momentarily. Chinaski darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ricardo Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gracie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
