The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welsh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Welsh lands in his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Welsh stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Huge prevents Welsh from moving into mount.

That's time! Huge's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Welsh closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Welsh decides to stand up.
Nice takedown defense from Welsh. No joy for Huge on that attempt.
Huge gets caught napping as Welsh dives in and scores a takedown. Huge manages to retain guard.
Welsh wants to control from the top but Huge keeps moving.
Welsh stands up and waves to Huge to follow him.
Huge darts in and clinches Welsh up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Huge jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Welsh walks away with a smile on his face. Huge gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Welsh counters with a left to the body.

Welsh closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Welsh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Welsh gets the takedown into side control.
Welsh wants to control but Huge is keeping him busy.
Welsh controlling the position from side mount.
Welsh has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Welsh gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Welsh is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Welsh frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Welsh has control of Huge's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Huge regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Huge really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A very excited looking TJ Welsh rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
