Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Mamute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Boans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boans has chosen Round and Round by Ratt as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamute swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mamute tests Boans's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Boans is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mamute has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boans is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mamute lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Boans fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Boans wants to get back to his feet but Mamute is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mamute drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boans manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mamute has Boans in his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mamute here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Mamute is working for an americana but Boans has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Mamute was thinking about the submission.
Boans wants to stand up but Mamute is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boans can do anything to dispel that myth.

Boans tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mamute paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boans drops his hands momentarily and Mamute takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A slow jab from Boans misses its intended target.
Boans feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mamute throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boans stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mamute throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Boans tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mamute is in Boans's guard.
Mamute passes Boans's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mamute is looking to advance position but Boans won't allow it.
Mamute prevents Boans from standing back up.
Mamute is pressing down on Boans's thigh, looking to free his foot. Boans is holding on for now.
Mamute is working for a kimura but Boans is defending it quite comfortably.

Mamute is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mamute, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
