The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calevra feints a jab promting Hogsback to slip. Calevra then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hogsback slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Xander Hogsback has been cut.
Calevra lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Calevra moves into the clinch successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Calevra closes the distance and clinches.

Calevra tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hogsback fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Calevra avoids it really well and circles away.

Hogsback uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Calevra.
Calevra fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hogsback manages to avoid it.
Calevra throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hogsback's head.
Calevra forces Hogsback back against the cage and clinches.
Calevra misses with a knee strike.
Calevra utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Calevra's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Calevra lands a head kick. Hogsback smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Calevra throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hogsback.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Calevra. Hogsback shrugs it off though.

Calevra lands with a kick to the ribs.
Calevra lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hogsback avoids the head kick by Calevra.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Calevra.
Calevra gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Calevra unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hogsback lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

and Calevra makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hogsback really felt that one!
Calevra scores with a head kick. Hogsback tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Calevra closes the distance and pushes Hogsback back into the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No joy there for Calevra, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hogsback takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Calevra connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hogsback's hands.
Calevra throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hogsback.

and Calevra counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Calevra feints and then cracks Hogsback's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hogsback down.
Calevra has Hogsback up against the cage in a clinch.

Calevra effectively controlling the action here.
Calevra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hogsback closes the distance and clinches up with Calevra, looking for a takedown. Hogsback pushes Calevra against the cage but Calevra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hogsback is breathing heavily.
Calevra misses with a head kick.
Calevra will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Calevra closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Calevra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hogsback fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Calevra sprawls well initially but Hogsback persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hogsback trying to control the action but Calevra is working from the bottom.
Hogsback is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Calevra is trying to stand back up but Hogsback is controlling him
Hogsback moves nicely into side control.
Calevra wants to get back to his feet but Hogsback drags him back down.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogsback is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Calevra has escaped the position, nice work there.
Calevra is trying to buck Hogsback off.
Calevra on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Calevra tries to get out of the position.
Hogsback has an Americana. Calevra didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hogsback is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hogsback hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
