Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rand Al Thor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papy Abedi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Thor comes to the cage accompanied by Hail the Dragon. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rand Al Thor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papy Abedi! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abedi tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Al Thor is able to avoid easily. Abedi looks to land a right hand but Al Thor moved out of range. Al Thor forces Abedi back against the cage and clinches. A head punch on the inside from Al Thor fails to land. Al Thor throws an elbow but it misses.
Abedi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Abedi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Al Thor pulls his leg out and moves away.
Al Thor has taken the fight to the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Al Thor scores with a nice short uppercut. Al Thor lands a body punch. Abedi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Al Thor misses with a hook from the clinch. Al Thor prevents a takedown attempt there.
Rand Al Thor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Papy Abedi. Abedi is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Al Thor is defending well. Abedi blocks an elbow strike. Abedi avoiding damage as Al Thor throws knees to the body.

It looks like Papy Abedi has been cut. Abedi tries to break free but Al Thor pushes him back against the cage. Abedi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Al Thor. Al Thor lands a left hand that snaps the head of Abedi backwards. Al Thor tries to throw a body punch but Abedi avoids it by throwing Al Thor back against the cage. Al Thor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Al Thor scores with a shoulder strike. Abedi blocks an uppercut.
Al Thor creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Abedi's defenses. Al Thor lands an elbow just above Abedi 's eye. Al Thor lands with a right to the head. Al Thor lands an elbow that stopped Abedi in his tracks for a moment.
Abedi is rocked! An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Al Thor. Abedi is still on wobbly legs! Can Al Thor finish him? A head punch on the inside from Al Thor fails to land. Al Thor fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action! Al Thor misses with some punches.

Abedi seems to have recovered his senses. Abedi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Abedi wants to slow Al Thor down by chopping away at his legs. Al Thor stuffs the takedown attempt from Abedi. Abedi gets slowly back to his feet. Al Thor misses with a head kick.
Abedi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Al Thor gets a clinch. Al Thor misses with a shot to the kidneys.

That has opened up Papy Abedi's cut even more. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Al Thor. Al Thor misses with a punch to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A right handed body shot lands from Al Thor.
Abedi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Al Thor fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Abedi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Al Thor gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Abedi blocking some punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Al Thor dips a shoulder and cracks Abedi with a mighty uppercut! Abedi falls back against the cage and Al Thor unloads with a barrage of strikes! Abedi is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Al Thor screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rand Al Thor! Rand Al Thor retains his welterweight title! An out of breath Rand Al Thor thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
