PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Till I Collapse. Jordan has chosen Rebel Son as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jordan.

Jordan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Jordan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Jordan has a good base and remains in mount.
Smith is squirming around, avoiding Jordan's attempts to control the action.
Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Smith avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jordan.
Smith wants to control but Jordan is having none of it.

Jordan controlling from the full mount.
Smith wants to hold on but Jordan pushes him away.

Jordan avoids the attempt from Smith to control.
Jordan sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Jordan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape.
Jordan is looking to stand but Jordan has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

William Jordan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Jordan controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.
Jordan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smith wanted to stand there but Jordan had control of the position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Smith just wasn't active enough.

Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jordan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jordan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

A very excited looking John Smith rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
