PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cole Hadman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Rayburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rayburn has chosen Let The Bodies Hit The Floor as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Hadman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jordan Rayburn!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hadman fails to land the takedown.
Hadman shoots in looking for a takedown. Rayburn tries to sprawl out of it but Hadman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rayburn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hadman doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rayburn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rayburn.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Hadman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rayburn has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hadman regains guard immediately.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rayburn won't allow Hadman to sweep him here.
Hadman wants to hit a switch here but Rayburn passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hadman there!

Hadman wants to get back to full guard.
Rayburn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hadman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rayburn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rayburn's back!

Hadman lands a shot to the body.
Rayburn trying to control the action but Hadman just sinks the hooks in.

Hadman lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Hadman.

Hadman scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rayburn just trying to survive but Hadman is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Hadman lands with a hammerfist to the side of Rayburn's head.

Rayburn is trying to get back to his feet but Hadman has full control of the position and if anything, Rayburn has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Hadman scores with punches and elbows.
Rayburn wants to escape the position.
Rayburn holding both Hadman 's hands and preventing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hadman is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hadman gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hadman gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hadman apologises and we restart here on the feet.

and Rayburn counters with an outside leg kick.
Hadman shoots and misses
and Rayburn counters with a head kick. That will keep Hadman thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Rayburn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hadman did well to prevent Rayburn getting side control.
Rayburn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Rayburn is looking to take a break and control but Hadman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hadman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Rayburn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hadman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hadman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rayburn regains half guard.

Hadman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rayburn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hadman.
Rayburn wants to control but Hadman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rayburn is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hadman is staying active.

Rayburn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rayburn.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hadman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hadman wants to pass the guard but Rayburn is keeping the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cole Hadman will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hadman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Hadman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rayburn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Rayburn manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hadman sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hadman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hadman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hadman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rayburn works to advance to full mount. Hadman defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hadman wants the takedown. Rayburn is fighting it off but Hadman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rayburn's guard against the cage.

Rayburn has his feet on Hadman's thighs here. He's pushed Hadman off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hadman screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Our winner, Jordan Rayburn, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
