PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zelios Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Claude Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Damme has chosen Boom! Shake The Room as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zelios Gracie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Claude Van Damme!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Damme displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Van Damme manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zelios Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Van Damme looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Van Damme wants to get back to his feet.
Van Damme can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Van Damme is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Damme knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Van Damme looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Van Damme is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and Van Damme can pop his arm back in it's socket.
