Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chambers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Watanabe misses with a left hand
and Chambers counters with a good low kick that Watanabe was not able to check.
Chambers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Watanabe slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Chambers avoids the body shot from Watanabe.
Chambers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Watanabe slips under a jab.
Watanabe misses with a left hand
and Chambers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chambers lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Kengo Watanabe has been cut.

Watanabe shoots in for a takedown but Chambers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kengo Watanabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Watanabe shoots for a double leg takedown but Chambers sprawls well. He's pushed Watanabe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Watanabe has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Kick In The Nutz Gym (14 Elite Coaches, Low Cap) in the buildup to the fight.

and Chambers counters with a nice leg kick.
Watanabe dives in and grabs Chambers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chambers pushes down on Watanabe's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kengo Watanabe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Watanabe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chambers pinned against the cage. Chambers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
George Chambers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chambers leaves Watanabe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Chambers counters with a nice low kick that buckles Watanabe's knee momentarily.

Watanabe is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Chambers has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Watanabe tries to score a body lock takedown but Chambers shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Chambers gets underhooks to prevent Watanabe's takedown attempt.

Chambers lands a big right hand that sends Watanabe crashing to the mat! Chambers stays standing though and waves Watanabe back to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Watanabe ducks into an uppercut from Chambers and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
