The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Trussell pushes Marley away with a front kick.
Marley throws a head kick that misses
and Trussell makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Trussell moves out of range of the body kick.
Trussell dives in for a single leg takedown but Marley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Trussell goes for a takedown attempt but Marley pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Trussell closes the distance and pushes Marley back into the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Marley's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Marley has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Marley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Trussell has him pressed against the cage.
Marley is looking to break free of the clinch but Trussell has double underhooks.

Marley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Marley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Marley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Marley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Marley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Marley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Marley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Trussell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Trussell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Trussell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Marley is just content to waste time from the top position. Trussell takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Marley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Marley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trussell can do anything to dispel that myth.
Trussell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marley wants to control from the top but Trussell keeps moving.

Trussell shoots in for a double leg but Marley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Nice sprawl there from Marley as Trussell shoots in.

Well Marley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
