Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oscar Payne told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jose Alonso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Payne! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alonso shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Payne pinned against the cage. Payne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Alonso throws a head kick that misses and Payne counters with a nice body kick.
Payne throws a sloppy head kick and Alonso moves out of range easily. Payne stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Payne wants it to stay on the feet. Alonso misses with a takedown attempt and Payne holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Alonso. That's going to take a lot out of him. Payne prevents a takedown attempt there.
Payne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oscar Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alonso tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Payne is able to avoid easily. Payne chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Alonso tries to keep at a distance but Payne has taken the fight into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Payne unloads a knee to the mid-section. Alonso is breathing heavily. Payne lands a nice elbow. Payne breaks the clinch.
Nice uppercut there from Payne. Alonso shoots in for a double leg but Payne sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Alonso shoots in for a takedown but Payne shows good takedown defense. A nice leg kick lands there from Payne. Alonso has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ACME! Thai Boxing Academy 13 ELITE COACHES! in the buildup to the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payne ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Payne darts in and clinches Alonso up against the cage. Payne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Payne instigates a clinch. Alonso has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Payne avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Payne breaks the clinch.
Alonso misses with a takedown attempt - Payne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Alonso avoids a punch combination nicely.
Payne has taken the fight to the clinch.
Alonso can't get the takedown.
Payne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Alonso closes the distance and clinches up with Payne, looking for a takedown. Alonso pushes Payne against the cage but Payne circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Payne lands a big head kick that sends Alonso tumbling to the mat! Payne takes a step backwards and waves Alonso back to his feet - he wants the finish! Payne throws a shot to the body.
Payne gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Alonso. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Payne obliges. Payne landing knees to the body.
Payne lands a nice elbow. A nice glancing elbow lands by Payne. Alonso has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Payne is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Payne prevents the takedown attempt.
Payne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Payne lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Payne lands a big head kick that sends Alonso tumbling to the mat! Payne takes a step backwards and waves Alonso back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Alonso is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payne connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Alonso to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Payne!
