Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barry Barrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patterson has chosen Jay Z and Kanye West - Gotta Have It as his entrance music. Barrow is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barry Barrow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Patterson! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Patterson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barrow's guard. Barrow is breathing heavily. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Patterson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Patterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barrow swivels though and keeps the full guard. Barrow on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barrow tries to get out of the position. Barrow is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Patterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patterson drops back looking for a leg! Barrow is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barrow manages to kick Patterson off! Patterson jumps back into Barrow's guard. Patterson stops Barrow from standing up. Barrow can't keep his opponent in guard - Patterson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Patterson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. This has been an exciting period of action! Patterson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barrow is just riding it out for now. Patterson eventually gives up the hold.

Anthony Patterson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Barry Barrow's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Patterson has his takedown stuffed and Barrow counters with a takedown into side control. Patterson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barrow wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Barrow is looking to take a break and control but Patterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Barrow tries to stand but Patterson is controlling his head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson is trying to get back to half guard. Barrow wants to stand but Patterson has his arm trapped.
We're going to have a standup here because Barry Barrow wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Barrow stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barrow wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Patterson shoots in for a double leg but Barrow sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Barry Barrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Patterson. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Patterson is defended easily by Barrow. Patterson shoots for a double leg takedown but Barrow sprawls well. He's pushed Patterson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson has his takedown stuffed and Barrow counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Barrow wants to stand but Patterson is controlling his posture from full guard. Barrow has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Barrow has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Patterson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Barrow is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Patterson pulls down on the head and he's put Barrow to sleep! This one is all over!
