The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez dives in and grabs Okami's left leg, looking for a takedown. Okami pushes down on Mendez's head and hops out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mendez.
Mendez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Okami sprawls well. Okami wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiko Mendez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Okami fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Okami shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mendez as he avoids it easily.

Okami gets caught napping as Mendez dives in and scores a takedown. Okami manages to retain guard.

Okami looking for a triangle here. Mendez is fighting it but it looks tight! Okami pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Mendez is tapping out - this one is all over!
