Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Lazarus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Taphorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirk Lazarus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Taphorn! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taphorn just misses with a punch to the body.
Lazarus avoids the body shot from Taphorn.
Lazarus feints and then cracks Taphorn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Taphorn down. Taphorn checks a low kick from Lazarus. A slapping body kick lands there for Lazarus. Kirk Lazarus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taphorn jabs Lazarus to the body, keeping him at a distance. Lazarus shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Lazarus throws a leg kick that is checked and Taphorn counters with a shoot takedown. Lazarus fights it but they end up in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Lazarus keeping moving, preventing Taphorn from controlling successfully. Taphorn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lazarus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taphorn has managed to get both his arms back between Lazarus's legs - danger averted. Taphorn trying to control but Lazarus is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lazarus wants to sweep here but Taphorn controlling him for the moment. Lazarus seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Taphorn is trying to maintain the position but Lazarus is very close to passing his half guard. Lazarus perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Lazarus passes the guard and advances to mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taphorn wants to control but Lazarus is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kirk Lazarus will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Taphorn fails with a takedown attempt. Taphorn has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lazarus. Lazarus throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Taphorn's head.
It looks like Peter Taphorn has been cut. Taphorn chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lazarus can pounce on him.
Lazarus misses with a low kick as Taphorn jumps back. Taphorn thows a left - swing and a miss! Lazarus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lazarus pushes Taphorn away with a front kick. Lazarus goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Taphorn blocks a low kick nicely. Taphorn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lazarus doesn't seem bothered though. Taphorn closes the distance and clinches up with Lazarus, looking for a takedown. Taphorn pushes Lazarus against the cage but Lazarus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A slapping leg kick lands for Lazarus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lazarus leaves Taphorn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kirk Lazarus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Taphorn. Lazarus cracks Taphorn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Taphorn chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lazarus throws a nice outside leg kick. Lazarus connects with a solid leg kick. Lazarus is looking to land body kicks. Lazarus connects with a leg kick. Taphorn looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Taphorn throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Taphorn is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! That kick from Lazarus tenderised Taphorn's leg. Taphorn is trying to keep his angry face on. Taphorn throws a lazy uppercut
and Lazarus counters with a thumping low kick. Lazarus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Taphorn takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lazarus throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Taphorn checks a leg kick nicely. Lazarus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lazarus pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Taphorn on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Kirk Lazarus is winning the standup battle so far. Taphorn lands a nice looking body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taphorn missing with a left hand there. Lazarus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Lazarus looks for the body kick but Taphorn saw that one coming. Lazarus dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Taphorn. That did some damage! A leg kick checked by Taphorn. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lazarus. Taphorn cracks a nice hook into Lazarus's ribs. Lazarus doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. A shot to the liver by Taphorn. Beautiful body shot. Kirk Lazarus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lazarus looks to land a body kick but Taphorn moved away. Lazarus misses with a low kick as Taphorn jumps back. Taphorn is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Lazarus rather than just go for the knockout. Taphorn fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lazarus to the ground. Taphorn is now in Lazarus's guard. Taphorn wants to control from the top but Lazarus keeps moving. Lazarus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Oh but Lazarus is tightening it up a little... Taphorn has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Taphorn reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Taphorn taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lazarus!

A relieved looking Kirk Lazarus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Peter Taphorn spoke after the fight, saying 'I'd like to blame Duphus for this loss. My opponent was so much taller I needed his gangly, crack head Larry Bird looking ass to help me train. I just wish he would bathe more. His hair smells like a spittoon in a low-class Bangkok whorehouse. His back is as hairy as a newborn chimp. it was bad'.
