Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Fynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikey Gans!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gans motions for Fynn to come forward. Gans throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Some wild striking there from Fynn.
We've been told by Fynn's head coaches at LOD-Guts & Glory Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gans takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd cheers as Fynn lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gans doesn't seem phased though.
Gans tries a head kick but it misses.
Fynn scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Fynn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Fynn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gans.
Fynn throws a jab but it's blocked by Gans.
Jab, jab by Gans - just one landing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A combination from Fynn does no damage.
Fynn pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gans is out of range and Fynn settles back down.
Gans throws a nice looking combination but Fynn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gans shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fynn as he jumps to the side.
Gans takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Gans tries to clinch up.
Gans throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gans pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fynn back to the cage. Gans follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Bob Fynn has been cut.
Gans rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fynn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gans looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bob Fynn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikey Gans.
Fynn stalks Gans and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gans's face. Gans staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Horrible takedown by Gans or perhaps it was just good defense by Fynn which made him look bad.
Gans throws a leg kick but Fynn sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Fynn throws a half hearted mid kick.
Gans falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fynn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fynn stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fynn lands with a right and another and another! Gans is in big trouble! Fynn lands again and this time it's lights out for Gans! A quality knockout there for Fynn.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bob Fynn!
