Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rajesh Koothrappali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock comes into the arena with Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue blaring out of the sound system. Koothrappali has chosen Punjab as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Shamrock coming out on top.
Koothrappali feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shamrock's calf.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shamrock.
Shamrock on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Shamrock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Koothrappali circles away quickly and effectively.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Koothrappali has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Shamrock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koothrappali tries to avoid it but Shamrock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koothrappali to the ground. Koothrappali escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shamrock crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Koothrappali - the referee stops the clock and Shamrock gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Koothrappali. Shamrock manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Koothrappali escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shamrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Koothrappali working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shamrock doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shamrock manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

He tries to recover but Koothrappali pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shamrock is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
