PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyros Sisyphus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Glenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Glenn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Say It Aint So by Weezer kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Robert Glenn enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyros Sisyphus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Glenn!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glenn is looking to score with low kicks.

Glenn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sisyphus is trying to defend but Glenn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sisyphus gets back to full guard.
Sisyphus is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sisyphus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sisyphus wants to pass the guard but Glenn is defending well.

Sisyphus wants to work for an arm triangle but Glenn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Sisyphus is pushing down on Glenn's leg trying to pass to half guard. Glenn is fighting to maintain full guard but Sisyphus has managed to sneak the leg through.

Sisyphus is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Glenn defends it well.

Sisyphus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sisyphus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyros Sisyphus dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Glenn fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Glenn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sisyphus sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A slow jab from Glenn misses its intended target.
Glenn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sisyphus pinned against the cage. Sisyphus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Glenn moves into the clinch.
I was talking to Sisyphus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Sisyphus wants the takedown. Glenn is fighting it off but Sisyphus persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Glenn's guard against the cage.

Sisyphus has gone for a leg lock! Glenn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sisyphus's guard.
Glenn wants to control from the top but Sisyphus keeps moving.

Sisyphus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Oh Sisyphus is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Glenn loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Sisyphus scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Glenn land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Glenn stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Glenn!
A very excited looking Robert Glenn made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
