Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fullsize Mirror (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Gillis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mirror comes to the cage accompanied by Ordinary Guy--- Blue Scholars. Gillis has chosen I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters as his entrance music. Fullsize Mirror has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fullsize Mirror!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jamie Gillis!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Gillis misses.
Nice takedown defense from Mirror. No joy for Gillis on that attempt.
Gillis throws the left hand but Mirror avoids the punch easily.
Gillis scores with a decent looking hook.

Gillis's coach down at Team Hopkins was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gillis's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Gillis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gillis postures up and lands a big shot to Mirror's brow.

Mirror had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gillis defends it easily.
Gillis looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Gillis is looking to work some ground and pound but Mirror has wrist control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gillis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mirror keeping moving, preventing Gillis from controlling successfully.

Mirror looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gillis passes into half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Gillis dips to his left and cracks Mirror with an uppercut!
Gillis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mirror stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mirror pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gillis is out of range and Mirror settles back down.
Gillis misses with a left hand
and Mirror counters with an inside leg kick.
Mirror moves away from the strike by Gillis.
Mirror looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gillis throws an off balance right hand
and Mirror counters with a nice leg kick.
Jamie Gillis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mirror doesn't manage to clinch there - Gillis circles away.
Gillis goes for a double leg but Mirror avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mirror continues to drive forward.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck for Gillis with that takedown attempt.
Mirror misses with an attempted mid kick.
Fullsize Mirror is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gillis throws a jab when Mirror was well out of range.

Gillis shoots for a double leg takedown but Mirror sprawls well. He's pushed Gillis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
