Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silver misses with a wild body shot. A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Silver. James connects with a high kick. A head kick misses from James. Silver will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silver tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silver to the ground. Silver escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Silver throws a right hand that misses
and James holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. The referee calls for James to work.
James keeps control of Silver as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silver throws a front kick aimed at James's knee but James avoids it well. A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Silver. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julian James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James shoots in for a takedown but Silver shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A clash of legs there as James blocks the low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice defenses there by James. James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silver pinned against the cage. Silver gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Silver throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and James counters with a slapping leg kick. Silver tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Silver. Joel Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver misses the body punch and James counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Silver is lucky that one didn't land flush. James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silver.
This has been an exciting period of action! Silver thows a body shot but no joy. Silver displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from James. Silver just misses with a punch to the body.

James throws a series of punches but Silver moves out of range. Silver throws an uppercut from half a mile away. James sees it coming and avoids it easily. James tries to clinch up but Silver circles away and keeps his distance. James darts in and clinches Silver up against the cage. Silver is trying to pull guard but James has him pressed against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver is trying to break free. James unloads a knee to the mid-section. James jumps guard and drags Silver to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Silver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silver drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Silver off! Silver jumps back into James's guard. James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silver on the ground. Silver drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if James tries to get out of the position. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as James holds on and takes a little breather. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. James controls Silver momentarily but Silver frees himself. That was a close round but I would say that Julian James will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

James goes for a double leg but Silver avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Silver continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julian James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silver uses from the top position. Silver drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
