Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez has his takedown stuffed and Williams counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Sanchez goes for a double leg but Williams avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Williams continues to drive forward. Williams managing to block the knees to the body from Sanchez.
Williams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sanchez prevents it.
Sanchez wants a takedown.
Hector Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Sanchez. Sanchez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Williams has taken the fight to the clinch.
Williams gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sanchez regains guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Our spies down at at BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym inform us that Sanchez has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Sanchez tries to land a sweep but no joy. This has been an exciting period of action! Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams stops Sanchez from standing up. Sanchez looks winded! Williams slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williams content to stall in guard here. Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Hector Williams wasn't doing enough on the ground. A jab-cross combination lands for Williams and sends Sanchez crashing to the mat! Williams follows him down to the mat - Sanchez regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Sanchez is rocked!
It looks like Tony Sanchez has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Williams not doing much here.
Sanchez is still in real trouble! Can Williams finish him? Williams seems to be looking for submissions.
Williams sitting and controlling from the half guard. Williams is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanchez defends it well. Sanchez seems to have recovered his senses. Williams performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Williams seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sanchez for as long as he can get away with.

Williams seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sanchez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
