PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Tippin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tap Out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Tippin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tap Out!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Out misses with a head kick.
Out goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Out takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tippin throws a body punch but Out moves out of range.
Tippin thows a body shot but no joy.
Out is looking to slow Tippin down with leg kicks.
Tippin dodges the punch combination from Out.
Out throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tippin.
Pete Tippin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Out throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tippin avoids the head kick by Out.
Out avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Out throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Out misses with a head kick.
Out takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Out tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tippin was well out of range. Poor timing from Out.

Good leg kick by Tippin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Tippin tries to clinch there but Out circles away.
Tippin misses with a hook
and Out counters with a body kick.
Out misses with a series of wild punches.
Tippin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Tippin misses with a few strikes there.
Out loads up on a big right hand but Tippin slips the punch.
Out cracks the inside of Tippin's front leg.
Tippin slips a jab from Out.
Tippin tries to land a front kick but Out steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Out thumps Tippin with a low kick.
Tippin dodges the punch combination from Out.
A swing and a miss from Tippin.
Out avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tippin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Out plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Tippin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Out misses with a two punch combination.
Tippin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Out's head backwards.
Out lands an overhand right.
Tippin lands a really nice looking cross but Out seems unphased.
Out takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Out wants to land a leg kick but Tippin is out of range.
Out on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Out ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tippin moves away.
Tap Out is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Out misses with a head kick.

Tippin moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Out goes down! Can Tippin finish him!?
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Out keeping moving, preventing Tippin from controlling successfully.
Tippin works over Out with some ground and pound from guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tippin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Tippin wants to control from the top but Out keeps moving.
Out looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tippin is one step ahead there.
Tippin stands and throws Out's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Out taking punishment in the form of punches.
Tippin misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Tippin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Tippin decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tippin misses with a looping right.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Out tries to land a front kick but Tippin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Out misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tippin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Tippin throws a right hand that Out ducks under and follows up with a left that Out also avoids with ease.
Tippin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Out misses with a body kick.
Out throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Out misses with a jab, cross combination.
It looks like Tippin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Tippin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tippin drops Out with a left and a right! Oh, Out is hurt - Tippin dives into side control looking to finish!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Out is rocked!
Out told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Out struggling a bit here.
The strikes coming from Tippin are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Tippin dominated that round.
That's time! Tippin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Tippin throws a right hand that Out ducks under and follows up with a left that Out also avoids with ease.
Out fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tippin manages to avoid it.
Tippin throws a predictable looking body shot
and Out cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Out throws an off balance right hand

and Tippin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tippin.

Out's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tippin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Out can do to turn this around?

and Out counters with a good low kick that Tippin was not able to check.
A looping hook to the body misses from Out. Tippin does a little dance to reset his feet.

Tippin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Out under the eye.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tippin throws a front kick aimed at Out's knee but Out avoids it well.
Tippin misses with a wild combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Out. Tippin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Out lands with a kick to the temple. Tippin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Out keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Out throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Out misses with a low kick.
Tippin avoids the body shot from Out.
Out throws a good cross that connects.
Tippin is looking to chop away at Out's legs.
Out with a nice cross.
Out checks a low kick from Tippin.
Tippin shoots in for a takedown but Out shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tippin drops Out with a left right combo! Tippin follows him down to the ground into side control.
Out is still in real trouble! Can Tippin finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tippin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tippin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Out is looking for a sweep.
Out is trying to control Tippin's posture but Tippin avoids it.
Out tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tippin presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Out seems to have recovered his senses.
A big strike lands for Tippin! That's really hurt Out and he's turned his back - Tippin keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Tippin jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Tippin!
Pete Tippin seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Tap Out stepped up to the mic, saying 'Be back better than ever!'.
