Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shogan Aye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Elliott! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Elliott enables Aye to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Elliott manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Aye postures up and lands a big shot to Elliott's brow. Elliott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Elliott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aye is controlling him. Elliott tries to land a sweep but no joy. Aye trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Aye has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Elliott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Elliott looking to control.
Aye passes Elliott's left leg - he's now in half guard. Elliott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aye. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Elliott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Aye is working for a submission of some sort.
Elliott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aye is working away from the top position though. Elliott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Elliott has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aye is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Elliott is just riding it out for now. Aye eventually gives up the hold. Aye is trying to work for a kimura but Elliott is defending well.

Aye is looking for a kimura but Elliott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aye to get the leverage. Elliott tries to get to full guard but Aye has control of the leg. Elliott is trying to stand up here but Aye is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aye is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Elliott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aye. Aye is working for a kimura but Elliott is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Elliott is defending against the submission attempts here by Aye.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aye looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Elliott tries to roll over but Aye keeps him under control. Aye drops an elbow to the side of Elliott's head. Elliott is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aye is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Elliott sees it coming and defends easily. Aye is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Aye is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Elliott! Elliott really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Elliott tries to buck Aye off but he can't manage it. Elliott is trying to escape the mount.
Aye is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Elliott is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Elliott flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Aye anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Elliott and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Aye slips an arm under Elliott chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Aye has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Aye is squeezing on Elliott like an anaconda would it's prey. Elliott fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
