Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Mewes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conqueraw Jahbless!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Mewes.
Jahbless throws a one two combo.
Jahbless throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mewes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jahbless tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mewes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mewes lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mewes connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jahbless shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mewes sprawls well. Mewes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jahbless gets slowly back to his feet.
Jahbless is looking to clinch but Mewes is avoiding it.
Jahbless will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mewes misses with a body kick.
Jahbless shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mewes pinned against the cage. Mewes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jahbless tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mewes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Conqueraw Jahbless has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mewes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jahbless dives in for a single leg takedown but Mewes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jason Mewes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conqueraw Jahbless.
Jahbless wants to take the fight to the mat but Mewes manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mewes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mewes dips to his left and cracks Jahbless with an uppercut!
Mewes throws a nice looking combination but Jahbless bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jahbless tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mewes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jahbless is rocked!
Jahbless has his takedown stuffed
and Mewes rattles Jahbless with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Jahbless tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Mewes dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Jahbless stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jason Mewes!
After the fight, Jason Mewes was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
