Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Frank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon GM! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! GM throws a nice looking combination but Frank bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. GM tests Frank's chin there with a solid looking shot. Frank throws an overhand right that lands on GM's shoulder, as GM tries to avoid the shot. A left and a right from GM both land. Nice combination. A left and a right from GM both land. Nice combination. Frank looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Frank fails with an attempt to clinch.
GM bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Frank misses with a few strikes there.
GM jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
GM misses with a series of wild punches.
GM lands a jab-cross combination.
Frank is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. GM jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Oh Frank is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! GM thows a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frank takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. GM circles away from the clinch attempt.
Frank fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Frank shoots in looking for a takedown but GM manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Frank's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. GM lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. GM blocks a jab. GM will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
GM is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Frank like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Frank from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon GM! Tony Frank was interviewed post fight and said 'I should never lose to a man I beat!! Hats off to Simon he came for revenge and he got it!'.
