Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bornas Lopette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Ries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopette comes to the cage accompanied by This is War. Chase Ries has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bornas Lopette's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bornas Lopette!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chase Ries!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ries missing with a left hand there. Lopette was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ries thows a body shot but no joy.
Lopette walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A jab from Ries misses.
A head kick misses from Lopette.
Ries has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ries there as he acknowledges the shot.
Lopette feints and then cracks Ries's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ries down.
Lopette connects with a leg kick. Ries looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Lopette throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ries's head.
Lopette tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ries fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lopette looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A bone on bone clash there as Ries blocks the leg kick.
Ries swings for the body but Lopette moves out of range.
Ries misses with a looping right.
Lopette throws a lazy right hand but Ries sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lopette keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ries takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We've been told by Lopette's head coaches at River's Edge Gym, LOP that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ries throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ries walks into a left hand.
Ries takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lopette tries to land a front kick but Ries steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lopette pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
No joy there for Ries, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lopette connects with an inside leg kick.
Lopette will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ries throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ries throws out a loose jab but Lopette uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ries lands with a right hand.
Lopette scores with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lopette takes one to the chin there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ries darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ries. Lopette does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ries throws a poor cross that misses
and Lopette connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lopette looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bornas Lopette is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ries has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lopette.
Lopette throws a sloppy head kick and Ries moves out of range easily.
Lopette thows a body shot but no joy.
Lopette throws a leg kick but Ries moved away.
Lopette throws a low kick, looking for Ries's leg but Ries calmly moves out of range.
Ries loads up on a big right hand but Lopette slips the punch.
Ries avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ries jabs at Lopette's body.
The fighters circling - Ries throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lopette uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ries.
Lopette is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ries.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ries lands a jab.
Lopette uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ries.
Ries swings for the body but Lopette moves out of range.
Jab by Ries.
Ries lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lopette. Ries shrugs it off though.
Ries on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ries moves out of range of the leg kick from Lopette.
Lopette fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ries.
Lopette lands a front kick.
Ries is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lopette had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Lopette tries to score with a low kick but Ries moves his leg out of the way.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lopette throws a leg kick but Ries checks it.
Ries misses with a double jab.
Ries connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ries closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lopette circles away.
Ries bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lopette's head backwards.
Lopette misses with a looping left.
A solid body kick from Lopette.
Ries throws a nice looking combination but Lopette bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lopette misses with a hook.
Lopette works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Lopette pushes Ries up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Lopette.
Ries takes a shot to the head.
Ries tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lopette prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bornas Lopette has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Ries.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lopette using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ries has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ries misses with a hook from the clinch.
Ries wants a takedown.
Lopette pushes Ries back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bornas Lopette dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ries is defended easily by Lopette.
Lopette tries a head kick but it misses.

Lopette lands a big head kick that sends Ries tumbling to the mat! Lopette takes a step backwards and waves Ries back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Ries is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ries misses with a series of wild punches.
Ries is still on wobbly legs! Can Lopette finish him?
Chase Ries is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lopette drops Ries with a naaaaasty hook - Ries is in real trouble here! Lopette dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bornas Lopette!

A very excited looking Bornas Lopette rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
