Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richie Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauno Koskinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauno Koskinen looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richie Hodges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauno Koskinen! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hodges throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Koskinen was covering up waiting for the punch and Hodges finishes the takedown easily into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hodges sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Koskinen's guard. Hodges perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hodges is looking to advance position but Koskinen won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koskinen wants to get back to full guard. Hodges looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koskinen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hodges's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hodges's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hodges trying to control but not successfully. Koskinen thows a strike but Hodges uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Hodges as he ends up in Koskinen 's guard! Hodges showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Hodges looking to pass the guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Richie Hodges wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Koskinen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koskinen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hodges circles away quickly and effectively. Hodges gets a takedown into half guard. Hodges trying to control the pace. Hodges prevents Koskinen from improving his position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hodges in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koskinen regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hodges. Koskinen controls Hodges momentarily but Hodges frees himself. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hodges showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Koskinen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hodges defends well and Koskinen ends up having to push Hodges into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Hodges tries to pull guard but Koskinen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Koskinen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hodges has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Koskinen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hodges keeps control of Koskinen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hodges takes an elbow to the forehead. Hodges has had enough of the clinch but Koskinen keeps him there for the moment. With the fighters up against the cage, Hodges throws an elbow but misses. Koskinen stalling in the clinch but Hodges improves position. Koskinen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hodges blocks it with crossed arms. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Koskinen is trying to force a seperation but Hodges has the dominant position. Koskinen stalling in the clinch but Hodges improves position. Hodges pulls guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richie Hodges dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hodges fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Koskinen, pushing him back against the cage. Hodges breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Koskinen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Richie Hodges is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Koskinen misses with a takedown attempt and Hodges counters with a nice double leg into guard. Hodges has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hodges looking to pass the guard. Hodges prevents Koskinen from getting back to his feet. Hodges's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Richie Hodges. Koskinen tries for a takedown but Hodges sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hodges leaves Koskinen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Richie Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauno Koskinen. Koskinen is breathing heavily. Hodges has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hodges is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Koskinen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hodges wants to break the clinch but can't.
Koskinen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Hodges has Koskinen pressed against the cage, preventing Koskinen from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Koskinen tries to stall but Hodges uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Hodges breaks from the clinch.
Hodges feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hodges would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hodges really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hodges stops Koskinen from standing up. Hodges slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Richie Hodges overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Koskinen is trying to control the position but Hodges postures up. Hodges will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Koskinen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hodges haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Hodges slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hodges on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Koskinen fails with the takedown. Some wild striking there from Hodges.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hodges moves into range and clinches up with Koskinen. Hodges tries for a takedown but Koskinen manages to get underhooks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hodges is trying to push Koskinen away but Koskinen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Koskinen wants to get back to striking at distance but Hodges won't allow it.

Koskinen misses with a takedown attempt - Hodges sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Koskinen throws a head kick that misses. Hodges tried to score with a low kick but Koskinen checks it. Hodges fails to land the takedown. Hodges dodges the punch combination from Koskinen.

Koskinen keeps the fight on the outside. Koskinen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Koskinen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koskinen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hodges is fending him off so far but Koskinen persists. Nope, Hodges circles away and we're back to standing. Richie Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauno Koskinen. Hodges has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hodges has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Koskinen uses from the top position. Hodges is adopting a defensive guard. Hodges throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Koskinen stands and throws Hodges's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hodges prevents Koskinen from moving into mount. Hodges struggling a bit here. Hodges tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Koskinen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hodges is pushing Koskinen's head away, looking to escape. Koskinen manages to hold on to the position though. Koskinen stands up and beckons Hodges to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koskinen is defended easily by Hodges.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hodges scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hodges missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hodges takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hodges is trying to control. Koskinen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Richie Hodges wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hodges stuffs the takedown attempt from Koskinen. Koskinen gets slowly back to his feet. Koskinen fails with the takedown and Hodges counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hodges.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hodges changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Koskinen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hodges stuffs the takedown attempt from Koskinen. Koskinen gets slowly back to his feet. Hodges shoots in and drives through. Koskinen sprawls well. Hodges is looking to clinch. Koskinen throws a right and a left that Hodges avoids nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hodges drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hodges wants to control but Koskinen is keeping him busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Richie Hodges showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hodges, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
