Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeru Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kristus Koistinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masaru comes to the cage accompanied by The Naked And Famous - Young Blood. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Takeru Masaru! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kristus Koistinen! The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masaru swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Masaru throws a lazy right hand but Koistinen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Koistinen lands a nice hook to Masaru's body. Masaru takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Masaru has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Allstars MMA in the buildup to the fight. Masaru thows a body shot but no joy. Koistinen swings for the body but Masaru moves out of range.
Masaru blocks a low kick nicely. Masaru darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Koistinen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Koistinen is looking to control Masaru's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Koistinen avoid being mounted? Koistinen gets back to full guard.
Masaru trying to control the position from guard on top but Koistinen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Masaru advances to half guard. Koistinen has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koistinen is looking to improve his position.
Koistinen is controlling Masaru's position as best he can from this difficult position. Masaru is taking a breather. Koistinen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Koistinen gets full guard. Masaru stays in close to Koistinen's body and controls the position. Masaru has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Takeru Masaru wasn't doing enough on the ground. Koistinen misses with a leg kick and Masaru counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Koistinen's guard now. Koistinen is looking for a triangle but Masaru pushes his legs off easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koistinen trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masaru pushes down on Koistinen's leg and manages to get into half guard. Masaru wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koistinen keeps working. Masaru looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Masaru is trying for a kimura here. Koistinen looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Masaru wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Takeru Masaru! Takeru Masaru was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
