Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cleveland Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomas Popov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Popov has chosen Russian National Anthem as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popov checks a leg kick.
Cox shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Popov sprawls well. Popov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cox gets slowly back to his feet.

Popov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Cox's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cox is looking to take this one to the mat.

Popov gets control of Cox's arms and successfully pulls guard. Popov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Popov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Popov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cox's guard.
Popov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Popov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cox works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Popov wants to control from the top but Cox keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Popov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cox. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tomas Popov.
Popov misses with a wild combination.
Cox misses with a wild body shot.
No joy there for Popov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Popov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Popov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cox on his heels. He'll look to pass Cox's guard now, I'm sure.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tomas Popov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cox fails with a takedown attempt.
Popov shoots in looking for a takedown but Cox manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Popov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Popov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Popov showed some decent athleticism there.
Cox tries to roll over but Popov keeps him under control.
Popov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cox does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cox has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Popov creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Popov is looking to take a break and control but Cox is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Popov in particular looking to stall.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tomas Popov wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cleveland Cox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Popov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cox manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Popov has Cox in his guard.
Tomas Popov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Popov manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Well Popov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
