Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Guti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Baikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Baikov looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Guti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Baikov! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baikov is fending him off so far but Guti persists. Nope, Baikov circles away and we're back to standing. Guti gets a takedown into half guard. Guti looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Guti is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Baikov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guti. Baikov is looking to improve his position.
Baikov wants to control the action here but instead Guti manages to pass to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Guti working for a submission but Baikov is keeping him at bay. Guti stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Baikov forces Guti back against the cage and clinches. Guti is working for takedown but Baikov is calmly controlling the position for now. Baikov has had enough of the clinch but Guti keeps him there for the moment. Baikov is looking to control Guti's arms but Guti gets an underhook and turns him. Now Baikov has his back to the cage. Guti escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Guti shoots in for a double leg but Baikov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Guti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Guti is breathing heavily. Guti avoids the head kick by Baikov.
Guti clinches up with Baikov and pushes him back against the cage. Baikov manages to break the clinch.

Baikov closes the distance and clinches. Baikov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A good leg kick by Guti. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Baikov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Guti shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Baikov tries to close the distance and clinch but Guti swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Guti looks to land a combination but Baikov avoids it well. Baikov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Baikov scoring well with a low kick there.
Baikov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Guti fails to land the takedown. Guti steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Baikov. That one must have hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baikov throws a jab when Guti was well out of range. Guti has a takedown stuffed. A chopping leg kick lands by Baikov. Guti swinging wilding here.

Baikov feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Guti's calf. Guti throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Baikov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Left hook, right uppercut from Baikov. Guti bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Guti stands up and beckons Baikov to his feet. Guti misses with a takedown attempt - Baikov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Baikov drives through and clinches with Guti against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guti wants to get back to striking at distance but Baikov won't allow it.

A good leg kick by Baikov. Baikov tries to clinch up but Guti circles away and keeps his distance. Baikov throws a series of punches but Guti moves out of range. Guti avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baikov wants to clinch. Guti feints and as Baikov raises his hands in defense, Guti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Guti thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Guti postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guti has gone for a leg lock! Baikov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Guti's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dan Guti will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Baikov pushes Guti away with a front kick. Guti fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Baikov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Guti thows a body shot but no joy. Baikov throws a leg kick and Guti counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Baikov! Guti is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Baikov has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Baikov! Guti throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Guti wants to sweep here but Baikov controlling him for the moment. Guti kicks Baikov off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Guti takes one to the side of the head.
Guti shoots in for a takedown but Baikov shows good takedown defense. Baikov cracks the inside of Guti's front leg. Guti stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Baikov. Baikov throws a leg kick that misses. Guti uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baikov.
Guti fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Guti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baikov moves in looking to clinch but Guti pushes him off. Baikov throws a nice head kick!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Baikov is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Guti scores a takedown into full mount! Baikov tries to buck Guti off but he can't manage it. Guti fails to move to back control. Guti swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Baikov is now in Guti's guard. A big mistake from Guti there, giving up the dominant position! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guti had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baikov is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Guti Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baikov's back instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Guti dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Guti looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Baikov moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Guti is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Baikov misses with a leg kick and Guti counters with a nice double leg into guard. Baikov looking to control.
Guti wants to pass the guard but Baikov is keeping the position. Guti wants to control from the top but Baikov keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guti wants to pass the guard but Baikov is keeping the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Guti drops back looking for a leg! Baikov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Baikov manages to kick Guti off! Guti jumps back into Baikov's guard. Baikov looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Guti puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Guti moves nicely into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Guti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Baikov has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baikov struggling a bit here. Guti tries to advance to mount but Baikov denies him. Guti goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Baikov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Guti but great work by Baikov.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guti is not content to let Baikov control the position. Guti gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Baikov moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Guti. Guti is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Guti tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Baikov presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Guti is squirming around, avoiding Baikov's attempts to control the action. Baikov prevents Guti from getting the reversal. Ivan Baikov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Guti showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Guti, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
