The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Silva pushes Tosh away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tosh gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Tosh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Silva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Mauricio Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tosh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tosh off to one side.
